| Our Programs At Thrill Dancers we have many programs to suit your needs. Recreational Program Our recreational classes are a great way for people of ALL ages, to have fun and get in shape. Miss Grace prides herself on teaching quality dance education. She has instilled these qualities in her recreational teachers. Our fantastic recreational team not only helps children achieve their goals in dance but can take them to a new level of dance education and enjoyment. We treat ALL our students with the same level of commitment and passion for dance. In this way Thrill Dancers has seen many of our dancers achieve personal goals such as, dancing at recitals and shows, and becoming a part of the Competitive Team. Classes are always taught in a fun and positive way. Grace's combination of styles and syllabus ensure that your child has a well rounded dance education. All classes take part in at least two shows a year (our yearly Christmas Show, and our spring Recital) and have opportunities to perform around the Brockville Area at events like the Palliative Care Telethon, Mulitcultural Festival, Riverfest and Ribfest. **Please note that discounts are given for each additional recreational class taken** Adult Classes Dance is a great way to keep in shape. At Thrill Dancers we have the following adult classes: Jazz, Hip Hop, Cardio Salsa and Strength and Conditioning. We promise a fun work out in a relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Pre-competitive Program The pre-competitive program is for students who are not necessarily new to dance but would like to experience the fun and thrills of taking part at the novice competitive level. While not as intense as the competitive program there are mandatory dance classes (Jazz and Ballet). Students will have the opportunity to take part in one dance competition and also have the opportunity to perform around Brockville. This program is great as an introduction to competitive dance for dancers between 5-10 years of age. Competitive Program What is Competitive Dance? The Competitive Program requires a level of dedication to learning and improving in dance. People who are in the competitive program, love to dance, want the opportunity to perform, want to take their dance to a higher level, and want to create and achieve personal goals in their chosen art form. Dancers are expected to take part in competitive dance classes in their age/experience level 3 days a week. All competitive students receive unlimited dance classes!! This means that a student can take part in all classes (competitive or recreational) in their age category. Mandatory classes are: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Strength Training, and Technique. There will also be mandatory choreography times that are scheduled for the first semester. All competitive dancers are also required to take part in our two week summer intensive dance camp at the end of July. Why Competitive Dance? Dancers learn how to be the best dancer that they can be. This involves planning, goal setting and achieving. This follows the dancer into their every day life so they can be the best person that they can be. By being on our competitive team dancers learn dedication, commitment, discipline, self esteem and self confidence. Dancers learn how to work within a team to achieve a common goal. The goal is not to win, but to enjoy and learn from the experiences that get us to our competitions. These are the most important things a child learns from being on the competitive program. How does my child become apart of the Competitive Program? Please contact Grace Villanueva. She will be able to evaluate your child and properly place her in a suitable level. Students are placed in their level based on their ability and not their age. However all our classes have wide age ranges, and Miss Grace makes sure that each dancers needs are taken care of. |
